Two boys were rushed to hospital with serious injuries after an e-bike collided with a car in Middleton on Monday evening. The crash happened on Windermere Road, at the junction with Wood Street, at around 8pm on September 28.
A large number of police and paramedic vehicles descended on the scene, and a cordon was put in place across a stretch of the road as crews responded. The boys, aged 13 and 14, were taken to hospital, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said.
Driver arrested at the scene
The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by driving with due care and attention. He has been taken into custody for questioning.
The road was closed off for several hours last night as investigations were carried out. Pictures showed evidence markers placed on the road within the cordon.
Police appeal for witnesses
Officers from GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are now appealing for anyone with information, witnesses, or anyone with footage of the crash to come forward.
