Two Arrested After Man Stabbed in Newcastle Disturbance

Two individuals have been taken into custody following a stabbing incident in the Blakelaw area of Newcastle. Emergency services responded to Springfield Road on Friday evening after reports of a disturbance involving multiple men.

Incident Details

Northumbria Police confirmed that a man sustained non-life-threatening stab wounds to his leg, while a teenage boy suffered minor injuries to his back after being assaulted. The altercation occurred shortly before 10pm and is believed to have involved occupants of a van that crashed into a property fence.

Arrests Made

A 21-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder. The 21-year-old remains in police custody, while the 16-year-old has been released on bail. Police believe those involved may be known to each other.
