A young mother who died following a three-vehicle crash in Fife has been named locally as Aisha Kempson. The 24-year-old was a passenger in a white Audi A3 involved in the collision on the A92 near the Luthrie Junction at around 1am on Sunday, October 4. The other vehicles involved were a grey Volvo V40 and a white Honda HRV.
Aisha was pronounced dead at the scene. The 27-year-old man driving the Audi was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee. The extent of his injuries and his current condition are not yet known. No one else was hurt in the incident.
Heartfelt tributes from family and friends
Aisha's sister, Gray Allan, wrote: "I'll miss you forever. Rest in paradise my angel. You were the best big sister to me. I'll never forget you. Please watch over me... I love you."
Her stepmum, Becky Lee Young, said: "Aw sweetheart. We're not ready for this. It's not real. You weren’t just my stepdaughter, you were my beautiful stepdaughter who gave us two gorgeous grandchildren who will keep you with us. I hope you are looking down and can see how much you were loved. I'm not ready to say goodbye yet."
Leanne Maxwell wrote: "RIP you beautiful girl. May the angels take care of you now. Thinking of your mum and the kids at this time." Lia Cropper added: "Rest easy my angel. I still feel like this is a dream. Your babies love you and will never forget you", while Kayleigh Boyle said: "Rest easy. Absolutely devastating. Taken too soon. Thinking of your mum and kids."
Road closed for nearly a day
Megan Woods also paid tribute: "Rest beautiful girl, can’t believe it, taken far too soon. Amazing mummy to your babies. Thinking of your mum and your two beautiful babies. Such an incredible lassie. Fly high up there."
The A92 was closed for nearly 24 hours while crash investigation work was carried out, with a photo from the scene showing a blue-lit police van blocking the road. The road reopened around 12am on Monday, October 5.
Police Scotland is appealing for witnesses to the crash. Sergeant William Low said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who has died at this difficult time. We are carrying out extensive enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this crash and we are appealing to any witnesses to come forward. Anyone who was driving around the time of the incident, and anyone with relevant dash-cam footage which may assist is asked to contact police."
