A significant blaze has resulted in the collapse of the roof at Mountain Warehouse within Thurmaston Shopping Centre in Leicestershire. The Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service reported receiving numerous calls about a large fire affecting several units at approximately 6am on Saturday, June 20.
Emergency Response
The fire service dispatched eight fire engines, two aerial appliances, and over 40 firefighters to the scene. All eight fire crews remain on site, and the fire has now been extinguished.
Smoke Plume and Public Advice
The blaze generated a substantial smoke plume, prompting authorities to advise residents to keep their windows and doors shut, according to Leicestershire Live.
