Three inmates guilty of murdering child killer Kyle Bevan

Three inmates have been found guilty of murdering child killer Kyle Bevan in a jail attack at HMP Wakefield. Mark Fellows, 45, Lee Newell, 57, and David Taylor, 64, were convicted for the murder of 33-year-old Bevan during an incident last November.

Background of the Victim

Kyle Bevan was serving a life sentence for the murder of his partner's two-year-old daughter, Lola James, in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, in 2020. He was ordered to serve at least 28 years for the brutal killing, which involved inflicting catastrophic head injuries on the toddler during a six-hour attack. The injuries were so severe that doctors compared them to those from a high-speed car crash. Lola's body had 101 scratches and bruises, and there was evidence of weapons being used.

Previous Incident at the Same Prison

The attack on Bevan occurred less than a month after paedophile singer Ian Watkins was stabbed to death at the same high-security prison. This case continues to draw attention to security within UK prisons.
