Three people were rushed to hospital after a car crash on Scotland's busiest motorway in Glasgow brought the area to a standstill. Emergency crews raced to the M8 at Govan, between the Junction 24 slip roads, at around 7.15pm on Wednesday.
Crash Details
A grey Skoda Octavia travelling westbound reportedly crashed into a barrier. The 21-year-old male driver and two 22-year-old female passengers were taken to the nearby Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. A 26-year-old male passenger was also assessed by medics at the scene.
Road Closure and Appeal
Traffic Scotland posted about the crash on social media, advising police were managing traffic via the off and on slips. The road did not fully re-open until 2.16am on Thursday. Police Scotland has appealed to anyone who was driving on the road at the time of the crash to come forward.
Sergeant Chris McColm said: “Our enquiries into the collision are ongoing and I am appealing to motorists who were driving on the M8 around the time of the incident to contact us with any information. If you have dash cam equipment, please pass on your footage as it could assist us in our enquiries.”
