Three men have died following a fire in a single-storey pavilion in White City, West London, the London Fire Brigade confirmed on Saturday night. The blaze broke out at approximately 6:52pm on New Zealand Way, prompting 19 calls to emergency services.

Firefighters rescue three men from burning building

Around 100 firefighters and 15 fire engines from stations including North Kensington, Acton, and Chiswick were dispatched to the scene. London Fire Brigade assistant commissioner Pat Goulbourne said: “Three men were rescued from the building by firefighters and treated on scene by paramedics from the London Ambulance Service. Sadly, two of the men were declared dead at the scene. The third man was taken to hospital for further treatment, but was later declared dead.”

Blaze brought under control by 9:25pm

Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control by 9:25pm. The fire damaged just over half of the pavilion structure. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade’s specialist fire investigation officers and the Metropolitan Police Service, according to Mr Goulbourne.
