An 18-year-old girl is fighting for her life after the car she was a passenger in was involved in a serious crash on the M80 motorway. The incident occurred on the northbound carriageway between junctions three and four, near Moodiesburn, at approximately 7pm on Sunday, 28 June.

The silver Volkswagen Golf the teenager was travelling in left the road, prompting police to describe the event as a 'serious crash'. Emergency services rushed the 18-year-old to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver, a 20-year-old man, was also taken to hospital, but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
