An 18-year-old man remains in hospital in a critical condition after an incident in Ystrad Mynach on Wednesday evening. Emergency services, including South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, Welsh Ambulance Service paramedics, and Gwent Police officers, responded to a medical emergency on Penallta Rocks, Ystrad Mynach, at around 8:45 PM.
Witnesses Describe Scene
Witnesses reported that emergency crews remained at the scene for approximately three hours. The young man was subsequently transferred to the hospital, where he is now being treated for serious injuries.
Official Response
A Gwent Police spokesperson stated: "We received a report of a medical emergency on Penallta Rocks, Ystrad Mynach, at around 8:45 PM on Wednesday June 17. Officers attended alongside paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service. An 18-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment and remains in a critical condition."
South Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they received a call at approximately 9:13 PM regarding an incident at Penallta House, Tredomen Park, Ystrad Mynach. Crews and appliances from Aberbargoed and Caerphilly stations attended to assist the ambulance and police services.
