A 17-year-old boy from Bootle has been charged with robbery after a man was attacked with a baseball bat on a footbridge in Litherland. The incident occurred at approximately 7:50 p.m. on Monday, June 29, when the victim was followed by a group of males on the Pennington Road footbridge. The assailants struck him twice with a baseball bat and stole his mobile phone.
Victim Hospitalized with Head Injury
The victim was taken to hospital with a head injury that required stitches. Merseyside Police confirmed that a baseball bat was seized and an arrest was made at a house in Bootle. The 17-year-old suspect, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear at Merseyside Youth Remand Court in Liverpool on Thursday, July 2.
