Teen Arrested After E-Bike Crash Injures Girl, 12

Police have issued an update after a 12-year-old girl was left with serious injuries when an electric bike struck her in an apparent hit-and-run in Orford. The incident occurred on Long Lane at approximately 2:40 PM on Wednesday, June 17. Emergency services responded to reports of an e-bike colliding with a child.

The girl was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries, initially described as critical. However, on Friday, Cheshire Police confirmed she is now in a stable condition.

Arrest Made

A 16-year-old boy from Great Sankey has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He is currently in police custody. Despite the arrest, the e-bike involved has not yet been located.

Detective Sergeant Russell Sime, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "While we now have a suspect in custody, we are continuing to appeal to the public to help locate the e-bike that they were riding at the time of the collision. If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of the bike, please get in touch."
