Prince Harry to fly solo to UK amid security concerns

Prince Harry will fly to London alone on Monday, without his wife Meghan Markle and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, it has been confirmed. The Duke of Sussex had hoped to bring his family to the UK for the first time in four years, but those plans were scrapped after he was denied police protection while in the country.

Security concerns derail family reunion

Reports earlier this week indicated that Harry was still trying to find a safe way to bring his wife and children to the UK, amid concerns about their security and confusion about where they would stay. While it is understood Harry will travel solo to London, no decision has been made on whether the Sussex family will join him in other parts of the UK.

The Duke is also scheduled to visit Birmingham, where the Invictus Games will take place next year. The Duchess was originally expected to join him at an engagement in Birmingham, though that appearance could still go ahead, according to reports.

King's invitation still uncertain

It remains unclear whether Harry has accepted his father King Charles's invitation to stay in a royal residence. The Duke is waiting for a review by the Risk Management Board (RMB), part of the process by which the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec) rules on his security requirements. He learned last Friday that the review had yet to take place.

Prince Harry's family have not been in the UK since 2022, when they attended the late Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
