Northumbria Police have released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak to following a serious assault in Newcastle city centre that left a victim unconscious. The incident occurred on Saturday, April 4, at around 9.10pm, when police received a report of an assault at a premises on Cloth Market.
Victim hospitalised after altercation
According to police, the victim was pushed to the ground during an altercation with another man, causing him to lose consciousness. He was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment of injuries to his head and upper body, which were not believed to be life-threatening.
Ongoing investigation and CCTV appeal
Officers have been conducting a number of enquiries to locate the person responsible, including a recent review of CCTV footage. On Wednesday, June 24, they released two images of a man they believe was in the area at the time of the assault and may have information that could assist the investigation.
Police acknowledged that the images are not the clearest but hope that someone will recognise the individual.
