A pedestrian remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a car in Monmouthshire, police have confirmed. The incident occurred on Monday evening, July 13, on the B4521 at Skenfrith, near Abergavenny.
Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 5.25pm. Officers from Gwent Police attended alongside paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service. The pedestrian was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition, a police spokeswoman said.
Road Closure and Investigation
The B4521 remains closed as collision investigation work continues. A Gwent Police statement read: "We received a report of a road traffic collision on B4521 towards Abergavenny at around 5.25pm on Monday, July 13. Officers attended alongside paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service. The collision involved a pedestrian and a car; the pedestrian was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition. The road remains closed at this time."
The road closure is expected to remain in place for several hours while investigators examine the scene. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.
