Emergency services responded to a collision involving a motorbike and a cyclist on a busy Tyneside roundabout on Sunday afternoon, with one person taken to hospital.
Northumbria Police and the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) attended the roundabout on the A189 near Killingworth, which connects the A189, Sandy Lane, and Killingworth Way in North Tyneside.
Ambulance crews deployed to the scene
A traffic camera image shows three police vehicles blocking a turn off the roundabout, with an ambulance visible further along the road. NEAS was originally called to the crash at around 2.45pm.
An ambulance crew and a clinical team leader were deployed by the service. One of those involved was treated at the scene, and a second individual was transported to Cramlington Hospital for further treatment.
One patient taken to hospital
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to a road traffic incident on the A189 near Killingworth, Newcastle at 14:46 on Sunday 4 October."
"We dispatched one ambulance crew and one clinical team leader to the incident. One patient was treated on scene and one patient was taken to Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital (NSEC) for further treatment."
Northumbria Police has been contacted for a comment on its emergency response to the incident.
