Monaco Explosion: Ukrainian Woman Named Prime Suspect
Monaco Blast: Ukrainian Woman Prime Suspect

An 'armed and dangerous' Ukrainian woman in her 30s has been identified as the prime suspect in a Monaco explosion that left oligarch Vadym Yermolaiev, a woman, and a teenage boy in critical condition. Interpol is poised to issue a red notice for her arrest after a warrant was issued.

Suspect Identified Through CCTV

The suspect, whose name has not been publicly released, was captured on CCTV outside the Sun's Palace apartment block owned by Yermolaiev. She is believed to have abandoned a rucksack that exploded in the entrance hall just before 9pm. Investigators say she was roughly 12 metres away when she triggered the device.

'The prime suspect was identified by a witness,' an investigating source told the Express. 'She is a Ukrainian woman in her thirties. CCTV footage revealed the woman wearing a black bucket hat and long-sleeve escaping on foot across the border into France, where there are no checkpoints. It is understood that the suspect was heading towards Beausoleil in France and has now travelled onwards to Italy.'

Armed and Dangerous

The source added: 'She is armed and dangerous, and thought to be in the company of accomplices. She should be approached with extreme caution.' French and Monégasque judicial officials have launched a criminal probe for attempted murder, depositing an explosive device on a public thoroughfare, and criminal conspiracy.

Stéphane Thibault, the Monaco prosecutor leading the inquiry, stated: 'We are attempting to arrest the suspect.'
