Man's petty revenge on teen who kicked seat during nine-hour flight

A passenger who endured nine hours of being kicked and elbowed by a teenager on a UK-to-US flight took calculated revenge, trapping the young woman and her mother at the back of the plane as other passengers disembarked.

The traveller, seated in row 37G-J near the rear of the aircraft, described his ordeal on Reddit. He said the teenage daughter, whom he estimated to be about 18, kept her shoes off and repeatedly elbowed and kicked him with her "stinky sock feet" while talking loudly. At one point, he was asleep when the daughter kicked him awake and slapped him with her jacket.

Shortly before landing, the two were physically fighting, playfully or not, and the man was hit a few times. He told them to "be civilised."

Deliberate delay at the back of the plane

As soon as the fasten seat belt sign came off, the mother and daughter got up and tried to force their way off the plane early. The man threw down his table and kept watching his programme, trapping them, and told them: "Patience is a virtue, we'll be last off anyway." They were not pleased.

He then deliberately delayed until the last possible moment to collect his luggage from the overhead locker, and placed it on his seat to obstruct their path again. He said he "accidentally" hit the daughter with his jacket on the way out of the overhead, keeping her back. A very large family behind him made their way behind him in the aisle, blocking them in again.

Online praise for the retaliation

Online commenters praised his calculated retaliation. One stated: "Petty revenge is best served with patience." Another remarked: "People like this make me wish I could downvote them in real life." A third user noted: "Small inconveniences, bravo." Meanwhile, another supporter declared: "Very British revenge. Full marks!"
