The body of a man believed to be in his 20s was discovered inside a property in Wirral on Saturday afternoon, prompting a bomb disposal squad to attend the scene. Emergency services, including Merseyside Police, have remained in the area since the man's sudden death.
Discovery and Response
North West Ambulance Service contacted police at around 3.55pm on Saturday, October 3, after attending a property on Reedville in Oxton, where they found the man deceased inside. An investigation has been launched, and police said the man's death is being treated as unexpected following initial enquiries.
The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was called to the property as a precaution after substances were located inside the premises. Officers said the bomb squad assessed and removed the substances, confirming there is no wider risk to members of the public.

The man's next of kin has been informed, and a file will be passed to the Coroner. A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "Merseyside Police can confirm that emergency services remain in Oxton today (Sunday 4 October) following a sudden death yesterday.
"Shortly after 3.55pm on Saturday 3 October, North West Ambulance Service reported they had attended a property on Reedville where they had found a man in his 20s sadly deceased inside."
The spokesperson added: "Merseyside Police has launched an investigation and following initial enquiries, his death is being treated as unexpected. His next of kin has been informed and a file will be passed to the Coroner.
"As a precaution, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) have attended to assess and remove substances located inside the premises and have deemed there is no wider risk to the public at this stage."
