A man has been stabbed in Manchester city centre, with a large police cordon and dispersal order now in place in Piccadilly Gardens.
Incident Details
Emergency services were called to Piccadilly Gardens at approximately 7:20pm on Thursday, June 18, following reports of a 'large disturbance.' Officers arrived to find a man in his 20s suffering from injuries consistent with a knife attack. He was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment.
One man has been arrested in connection with the incident, police confirmed.
Police Response
A dispersal order has been implemented for Piccadilly Gardens and the surrounding area, granting officers additional powers to move people on. The cordon initially affected the track next to the Piccadilly Gardens tram stop, causing disruptions to Metrolink services.
