A man has been stabbed in Manchester city centre, with a large police cordon and dispersal order now in place in Piccadilly Gardens.

Emergency services were called to Piccadilly Gardens at approximately 7:20pm on Thursday, June 18, following reports of a 'large disturbance.' Officers arrived to find a man in his 20s suffering from injuries consistent with a knife attack. He was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment.

One man has been arrested in connection with the incident, police confirmed.
