Man Hospitalised After Murder Bid at Wishaw Park

A 47-year-old man has been rushed to hospital following a broad daylight murder bid at a Wishaw park. Police were alerted to the incident after receiving a report that a man had been assaulted at the town's Pather Park football pitches shortly after 4pm on Wednesday, June 17.

Victim Hospitalised

The victim was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. His condition has not been confirmed at this time. Police say the incident is being treated as an attempted murder, and officers are following a positive line of enquiry.

Police Statement

A police spokesperson said: "Around 4.05pm on Wednesday, June 17, police received a report a man had been assaulted on football pitches to the rear of Caledonian Road in Wishaw. Emergency services attended and a 47-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. Officers are treating the incident as attempted murder and enquiries are ongoing."
