Man Dressed as Bride Sought in Mathew Street Sex Attack

Merseyside Police have released CCTV images of a man wearing a bridal fancy dress costume in connection with a sexual assault on Mathew Street in Liverpool city centre. The incident occurred at approximately 8:10pm on Saturday, May 2, when a woman was reportedly sexually assaulted by a man she met outside Remeniss bar.

Police Appeal for Information

The man is described as white, with short brown hair and a beard, wearing a knee-length white gown, veil, and white trainers. He was part of a group of men also in fancy dress, according to a Merseyside Police spokesman.

Detective Inspector Jemma Berry stated: “This was a frightening experience for the victim who has been supported by our officers during the investigation. We take reports of any sexual assaults in our city centre very seriously and our detectives are working hard to ensure that the person responsible is identified so we can continue to make Merseyside a safer place to visit and work.”
