Man Dies Following Medical Incident at Aberavon Beach

A 50-year-old man has tragically died after suffering a medical emergency while in the sea at Aberavon Beach in Wales. Emergency services, including police, paramedics, and an air ambulance, were dispatched to the scene on Wednesday afternoon following reports of a medical incident.

The man, who was from Cilfrew, Neath Port Talbot, entered the water and required urgent medical attention. HM Coastguard performed CPR at the scene before the arrival of the air ambulance and paramedics. Despite their efforts, the man was pronounced dead at 4.50pm.

A spokesperson for South Wales Police said: "Officers were called to Aberavon Beach at around 4.25pm yesterday (Wednesday June 24) following a report of a man requiring medical assistance having entered the water. The Coastguard commenced CPR until the arrival of the air ambulance and paramedics. Despite the medical professionals' best efforts, the man - a 50-year-old man from Cilfrew, Neath Port Talbot - was pronounced dead at the scene at 4.50pm."

The spokesperson added: "Next of kin has been informed. The death is not being treated as suspicious."
