Man Critical After Fall from Salford Tower, Two Arrested

A 30-year-old man is fighting for his life in hospital after falling from a height at a high-rise tower block in Salford. The incident occurred on Cannon Street shortly after 1:10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.

Injuries and Hospitalization

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) reported that the man sustained serious injuries consistent with a fall from height. Emergency services attended the scene, and the victim was immediately transported to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Arrests Made

A 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) and possession of Class A drugs. A 43-year-old man has also been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault and possession of an offensive weapon. Both individuals are currently in police custody.

GMP stated: "We were called to reports of an incident on Cannon Street shortly after 1.10am on Wednesday 17 June 2026. Officers attended and discovered a man with serious injuries consistent with a fall from height. The man in his 30s was taken to hospital where he remains in critical condition."

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
