Emergency services were called to a dog attack in Glenrothes, Fife, on Monday morning, with a man rushed to hospital for treatment.
Police were called to Ednam Drive in the Macedonia area of Glenrothes at 11.15am on Monday, October 5. The attack left the victim needing hospital care, though no further details of his condition have been released.
Eyewitness describes scene
An eyewitness said the victim was screaming in the street. They said: "I ran out of my house when I heard the man screaming. A few of us helped."
"He was in a really bad way. I hope he's okay."
Images from the scene show a number of police officers in the street and several police vans on the road. Police have not released the breed of dog involved.
Arrest and charge
A 41-year-old man has since been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He is due to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court at a later date.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 11.15am on Monday, 5 October, 2026, we received a report of a man having been attacked by a dog in the Ednam Drive area of Glenrothes.
"Emergency services attended, and the man was taken to hospital for treatment.
"A 41-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection and is due to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court at a later date."
