Police Investigation and Arrest

Detective Inspector Sharon McPeake earlier stated it was “crucial” the man was identified and that officers would be conducting “pro-active patrols” in the area. On July 3, Police Scotland announced the arrest of a 36-year-old man in connection with the alleged sexual assault.

DI McPeake said: “We understand this has been a concerning incident and I would take the opportunity to thank the public for their assistance with our investigation. We are continuing to engage with the local community and anyone with concerns is encouraged to speak to one of our officers.”
