A 33-year-old man was arrested at Frankfurt Airport after allegedly trying to open a plane's door mid-flight, forcing crew and passengers to restrain him before landing. The incident occurred on a Lufthansa flight from Bogotá to Frankfurt.

Passenger shakes emergency door

The passenger reportedly stood up from his seat and shook one of the emergency doors. According to police, the crew asked the man to stop shaking the aircraft door. However, the man ignored the instructions to the point where cabin crew had to physically pull him away, reports Bild.

Passengers assist in restraint

The situation on board the Boeing 787 escalated when two passengers had to get involved to restrain the man. They eventually managed to get him away from the door, and the flight was able to continue as scheduled, according to Lufthansa.

Arrest and psychiatric hospital

Upon landing in Frankfurt, the man was arrested on suspicion of endangering air traffic. A police spokesperson said: "Due to his condition, the man was taken to a nearby psychiatric hospital."
