A 61-year-old man has been arrested following reports of a man armed with a blade making threats in Norris Green last night. Merseyside Police were called to Scargreen Avenue at around 8.20pm on September 29.
Arrest on Cottesbrook Road
Officers attended the scene and the man, from Liverpool, was arrested on Cottesbrook Road on suspicion of being in possession of a knife/blade/sharp pointed article in a public place. He was taken to hospital for treatment to a head injury sustained during an assault, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
Investigation underway
An investigation is in its early stages as detectives work to establish the full circumstances, a Merseyside Police spokesman said. A large section of Cottesbrook Road remained cordoned off this morning, September 30. Residents reported hearing a "commotion" last night, with ambulance services and multiple police vehicles attending.
