A 77-year-old grandfather who was hit by a car near an Aldi supermarket has died of his injuries. David Bush was struck by a Toyota Prius in the supermarket car park on August 6.
According to YorkshireLive, the incident occurred on Halifax Road, Brighouse, at 12:55pm. Mr Bush, described by his family as a "much-loved" family man, was taken to hospital with serious life-threatening injuries. He died on August 17.
Family tribute and police statement
Police have said the family asks for privacy at this time. In a tribute, his family said: "David was a much-loved husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed dearly by those knew him."
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "A 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and has now been bailed pending further enquiries. Officers from the Major Collision Enquiry Team are carrying out enquiries and are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dash-cam footage to come forward."
