Four people have been taken to hospital after a serious collision on a major road in Wales, two having sustained serious injuries. Emergency services including the Wales Air Ambulance were dispatched to reports of a two-vehicle crash on the eastbound carriageway of the A55 near St Asaph on the evening of Wednesday, September 30.
Police confirm response to collision
A North Wales Police spokesperson confirmed they received the call at around 8.40pm, after which four people were taken to hospital. Two of those involved sustained serious injuries, according to police.
Road closed and reopened
The road was shut in both directions while emergency services attended the scene. It was reopened in both directions shortly after 11.30pm, police confirmed.
Eyewitnesses reported that fire crews and paramedics were also in attendance at the scene of the collision. The Wales Air Ambulance travelled to the scene from Cardiff.
