Police are appealing for information following a fatal crash on the A70 at Lanark involving a motorbike and a van.
Collision details
The incident happened around 3.20pm on Monday, August 24, and involved a black Suzuki GSX-R motorcycle and a silver Renault Master van. The rider of the motorbike, a 57-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the van did not require treatment.
Road closure and appeal
The road was closed and reopened around 10pm. Sergeant Stephen MacDonald said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has died at this difficult time.”
“Enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash to contact us. We’d also ask anyone with dash-cam footage which could assist our enquiries to come forward.”
