Predator Craig Ingram (Matthew James-Bailey) pressured Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) into sex in last night’s EastEnders, and tonight he doubles down in his effort to exert control over her.
Amy was hesitant about rushing into sex with Craig, but when he threatened to leave, she felt pressured into going along with what he wanted.
Amy confides in Denise after sleeping with Craig
In tonight’s episode, Amy was clearly anxious about what had transpired, as she confided in Denise Fox (Diane Parish) that she had slept with her mystery boyfriend for the first time, and was worried that she’d been ‘rubbish’ and put him off.
Unaware that Amy had been taken advantage of, Denise assured her that it would get easier, and that no one’s first time feels the way they expect it will. When Amy asked if it was okay that she wanted to wait before doing it again, Denise made it clear that it was her body, and anyone who didn’t respect her wishes wasn’t worth having around.
Craig reacts badly to Amy’s request to slow down
Though her chat with Denise lifted Amy’s spirits, she was soon crushed again when Craig took her request to slow things down badly.
After berating her for giving him the ‘silent treatment’ overnight, Craig reacted as though Amy was dumping him, and when she clarified that she wasn’t, he told her he’d give her space until she decided what she wanted. This was obviously confusing for Amy, who was left feeling like she’d done something wrong.
What happens when Amy stays over at Craig’s?
Later, after falling out with dad Jack Branning (Scott Maslen), she messaged Craig to apologise and ask if she could stay over at his, and was relieved when he forgave her and agreed.
With Amy staying at Craig’s for the night, will he respect her wishes to slow down their relationship, or will she again feel pressured into going further than she’s ready for?
