Police are investigating after footage emerged showing dozens of people involved in a street brawl on Broad Street in Barry at around 1.30am on Sunday morning.
Shocking scenes of disorder
The footage shows people jumping on top of cars to film the disorder, setting off vehicle alarms, while others are involved in fights in the middle of the road. Groups of men appear to be throwing punches at one another, with individuals ending up on the floor. One man appears to try to kick someone directly in the face, while some people can be heard shouting "stop it boys", and others stand and watch.
Police response
Security guards are visible in some of the footage but struggle to intervene. A spokesperson for South Wales Police said officers were called to the disturbance at around 1.30am but when they arrived the group involved had left the area.
A spokeswoman for South Wales Police said: “Officers were called to Broad Street, Barry, following a report of an ongoing disturbance at around 1.30am on Sunday, July 26. Upon attendance, the group involved had left the area. Officers remained in the area as reassurance and enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
