Horrifying CCTV footage has emerged showing a DHL delivery driver subjecting a customer to a brutal and sustained physical assault on his own doorstep in a quiet Stoke-on-Trent neighbourhood. The vicious attack, which occurred in broad daylight, was reportedly triggered by a simple query about a parcel.
The video evidence shows the courier, employed by the logistics giant, suddenly turning violent without provocation. The victim, 38-year-old Ben Styles, can be seen attempting to de-escalate the situation before the driver unleashes a series of powerful punches to his head and body.
A Vicious and Unprovoked Assault
The confrontation began routinely. Mr Styles approached the driver to question why a parcel was being returned to the depot instead of delivered. Without warning, the driver's demeanour shifted from professional to aggressively hostile.
The CCTV captures the shocking moment the driver drops his electronic device and launches himself at Mr Styles, forcing him against a wall and delivering multiple blows. The victim, clearly stunned by the sudden violence, is heard pleading, "What are you doing?" as the assault continues.
Severe Injuries and Lasting Trauma
The consequences of the attack were severe. Mr Styles was left with significant facial injuries, including heavy bruising and swelling. Beyond the physical harm, the incident has inflicted profound psychological trauma, shattering his sense of security in his own home.
"I was in complete shock," Mr Styles stated. "It was so unexpected. One minute it was a normal conversation, the next I was being beaten against my own wall. I genuinely feared for my safety."

Following the incident, DHL has confirmed the driver is no longer employed by the company. A spokesperson for DHL Express UK issued a statement: "We are aware of an incident involving a delivery driver and a customer. We have zero tolerance for any behaviour of this nature. The individual is no longer providing services on our behalf."
Staffordshire Police have confirmed they are investigating the assault. A spokesperson said: "We were called to a report of an assault at an address. Enquiries are ongoing."
