Oliver Smith, a 40-year-old father of three, has died following a single-vehicle collision in Littlebury, near Saffron Walden, Essex Police said.
Crash details
The incident took place on Cambridge Road in the early hours of July 29. Mr Smith was the driver of the car, officers confirmed.
Police are still looking to hear from anyone who witnessed the crash or may hold information about it.
Family tribute
His family has paid tribute to him, describing him as "naturally funny" and "quick-witted." In a statement, they said: "We are heartbroken by the sudden passing of Oliver Smith following a road traffic collision on July 29th. Oliver brought endless light and laughter to our lives.
"He was naturally funny, quick-witted, and, above all else, completely adored his three children. He was a deeply loved husband, father, son, and brother, and his loss leaves an irreplaceable hole in our family.
"We kindly request privacy and space during this devastating time as we support one another and grieve together."
Essex Police are appealing for any information from the public to assist their investigation.
