Coronation Street finally solved its whodunnit in Monday's episode, now available on ITVX, with Theo Silverton's killer unmasked during a dramatic dinner party. The perpetrator was revealed to be Sarah Platt, who struck Theo with a piece of scaffolding after he lured her to Todd Grimshaw's flat.
Dinner Party from Hell
Kit Green had arranged a romantic dinner for his girlfriend Sarah Platt, intending to propose, but the evening was gatecrashed by Todd Grimshaw, Summer Spellman, Gary Windass, and Maria Connor. Tension escalated as Maria and Kit suspected Sarah and Gary of having an affair, while Summer made Kit feel guilty about his earlier suspicions that she killed Theo.
As Kit brought out the main course, Maria dropped the bombshell that Gary and Sarah had been conducting an affair for weeks. The revelation triggered a torrent of secrets and lies in a series of explosive flashbacks.
Flashback Reveals the Murder
A flashback showed Sarah receiving a text from Todd, prompting her to rush to his flat. There, Theo was waiting on the scaffolding, having used Todd's phone to lure her. Fearing for Todd's safety, Sarah sought answers as Theo taunted and threatened her. Terrified, Sarah shoved Theo and grabbed a piece of scaffolding, striking him on the head. Theo fell from the scaffolding and crashed to the ground.
Sarah fled downstairs to check on Theo and, finding him motionless, called Gary. He helped her conceal the incident, instructing her to establish an alibi.
Present Day Confession
In the present, Gary confessed he wished he had never answered Sarah's call that night. He declared he could no longer keep her secret, fearing he would lose his marriage to Maria and his place in his family's life. As Gary headed home, Sarah was left in panic.
Coronation Street airs weeknights at 8:30pm on ITV and ITVX.
