A child was rushed to hospital after reportedly being hit by a car in Wallsend on Friday afternoon.
Emergency services were deployed to the Battle Hill area at around 4.30pm following reports of a car crash.
Paramedics from the North East Ambulance Service and doctors from the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) attended the scene, Chronicle Live reports.
Air ambulance response
A GNAAS spokeswoman said: "Our critical care team was activated at 4.38pm to reports of a road traffic collision in Wallsend. We had two doctors and a paramedic on board our aircraft and they arrived on scene at 4.56pm."
The air ambulance reportedly landed in the Battle Hill area to attend the incident.
Hospital transfer
The child was then taken to hospital by road.
The GNAAS spokeswoman added: "Our team worked alongside the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) to assess and treat a patient. The patient was taken to hospital by a NEAS road crew, accompanied by our team."
Northumbria Police and the North East Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.
