Police have launched an investigation after a car was firebombed in Dumbarton. The incident occurred on Glencairn Road at around 1:25am on Tuesday morning, prompting a response from emergency services.
Fire extinguished quickly
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene and quickly extinguished the blaze. No injuries were reported.
Shocking footage shows a Mazda CX-30 completely engulfed in flames outside a row of houses. As a fire engine arrives, another explosion rocks the residential street, and firefighters immediately work to douse the fire.
Police appeal for witnesses
Police Scotland confirmed the fire is being treated as deliberate and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
Constable Emma Gibb said: "Thankfully no-one was injured as a result of this reckless act. Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident and hasn't already spoken to police to get in touch. I would also ask anyone who was in the area and who may have dash cam or private CCTV footage which could assist to contact us."
