Brit Tourist Revenge on Sunbed Hogs with Itching Powder

A British holidaymaker has taken revenge on fellow tourists who reserve sunbeds with towels by sprinkling itching powder on their towels, sparking a viral debate online. Tom Caunce, 31, from Southport, was on a family holiday in Majorca when he decided to act after repeatedly finding sunbeds reserved but unused.

Itching Powder Prank

Caunce spent the first few days observing guests who claimed the same loungers each morning before disappearing. He then targeted a couple in their 40s, sprinkling itching powder onto their white hotel towels. The first attempt yielded little reaction, but a second attempt succeeded. The man was seen scratching himself shortly after using the towel. Caunce said: “He picked up the white towel and used it to dry himself, and the small irritation seemed to turn into a full-body scratch.”

Viral Reaction

Caunce’s videos were viewed a combined 864,000 times and attracted more than 13,000 likes on social media. Commenters were divided: one called it “incredibly strange,” another said “it’s not ok to do this. Remove towels, yes, but this no,” while a third praised him as an “absolute genius.” Caunce commented: “I think we’ve all experienced the frustration of trying to get a sunbed on holiday.”
