An eight-year-old boy has been taken to hospital after being struck by a vehicle on Crieff Road in Perth, near a primary school.
Crash Details
Police were called to Crieff Road at around 8.50am on Wednesday, August 19, following a crash involving a vehicle and a child pedestrian. The youngster was taken to hospital for treatment. The extent of the boy's injuries is not currently known.
The road was closed in both directions between Tulloch Road and Fairfield Avenue while emergency services dealt with the incident. Multiple police vehicles and an ambulance were spotted at the scene.
Road Conditions and Reopening
Temporary traffic lights and roadworks are also in place on the stretch of Crieff Road where the crash happened, close to a Farmfoods store and in the vicinity of Goodlyburn Primary School. Police have since confirmed the road has reopened and thanked motorists for their patience.
A Police Scotland Tayside spokesperson said: "Crieff Road in Perth has now re-opened following a crash involving a vehicle and an 8-year-old male pedestrian. He was taken to hospital for treatment. The crash happened around 8.50am. Thanks to motorists for the patience."
Response and Further Information
Police had earlier urged motorists to avoid the area while the road was closed, with drivers advised to use alternative routes. The Record has contacted the Scottish Ambulance Service for further information. Perth and Kinross Council said they couldn't comment at that time.
