Angry Ginge abused after confronting racist at World Cup

I'm a Celebrity winner and YouTube star Angry Ginge, real name Morgan Burtwistle, has been subjected to a wave of abusive messages after confronting an alleged racist at the World Cup. The 24-year-old attended the England versus Ghana match at the Boston Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, where he recorded a video detailing the incident.

Confrontation at the Stadium

In the video, Burtwistle told his fans: 'We have a situation where the gentleman that is sat there is being racist. I've reported it to the steward because, kick it out is the saying, I will stand by that. So he's going now to get his supervisor, and we'll see what happens. There's no way he should ever set foot in a stadium or watch a football game ever again.'

Burtwistle claimed that stewards told him nothing could be done unless the man repeated his comments. The man who allegedly made the remarks attempted to apologise, asking if they could forget about the incident, but Burtwistle refused. Reportedly, the man was removed from his seat but allowed to watch the game from another part of the stadium.

Dissatisfaction with Stewards' Response

'It's absolutely not good enough from the American stewards, the message before the game, the message is kick it out – if you see it, say it,' Burtwistle told his viewers. 'I've gone and reported it, he's not been kicked out of the stadium. We saw him as we left, he's been allowed to watch the whole game after the things he was saying about the Ghana team.'

Since posting the video, Burtwistle shared on his Instagram stories abusive messages he received, captioning them: 'Standing up to racism gets you this? What a world we live in.' One message read: 'You some little goon yall see who's racist when the men of England take you out you are no more we see you I Manchester.' Another said: 'Let's see how woke you get when we grab your security ain't going to do shit cuz they gonna get it to. You little woke t**t soon your gonna get smashed the f*** in you watch.'

Support from Fans

Despite the backlash, many supported Burtwistle. @I_amMukhtar wrote on X: 'I'm a Celeb winner, and YouTuber AngryGinge confronted a racist who was racially abusing Ghanaian players during the England vs Ghana match and tried to get him kicked out. He reported the incident to the stewards, but they did nothing. Big up Ginge.' @LEOANDR01ARDA added: 'AngryGinge is such a respected fella. He's someone that stands up for what's right. Racism should be punished and it's sad Americans don't take it as seriously as I'd expect them too.'

Metro has approached Angry Ginge and Fifa for comment.
