A devastating house fire in Melbourne's northern suburbs has claimed the life of a young child and left a man injured, in a tragedy that has rocked the local community.
Emergency Response to Dorothy Street Blaze
Emergency services were called into action shortly after 2pm on Tuesday, responding to multiple urgent triple-0 calls reporting a house fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters, paramedics, and police raced to the scene at a property on Dorothy Street in Fawkner.
Upon arrival, crews were confronted with a severe and rapidly spreading fire. In a brave rescue effort, firefighters managed to pull two victims from the burning building: a three-year-old boy and an adult man.
Frantic Efforts to Save Young Life
Despite the immediate and valiant efforts of paramedics at the scene, the young boy could not be saved. CPR was performed on the toddler but, tragically, he could not be revived.
The adult male casualty was treated for what have been described as minor injuries. He was subsequently transported to the nearby Northern Hospital for further medical assessment and care.
