Three men have been charged with manslaughter after the death of a man in Salford. Ben Wright died following an incident outside Dessie's Place, on Liverpool Road in Cadishead, shortly before 3am on March 29.
Incident Details
The 39-year-old was rushed to hospital after emergency crews arrived on the scene. He suffered 'significant injuries', police said, and died later in hospital on March 31. Greater Manchester Police has confirmed three men have been charged with manslaughter.
Charges and Court Appearance
Cole Churchill, 20, Jacob Hall, 19, and Connor Lee Browne, 19, are due to appear before Manchester and Salford magistrates court on August 21, GMP said. In a statement, GMP said: "Cole Churchill, 20, of Morillion Road, Irlam, Jacob Hall, 19, of Chapel Street, Leigh, Wigan, and Connor Lee Browne, 19, of Bowness Avenue, Irlam, have all been charged with manslaughter and affray."
They will be appearing at Manchester Magistrates' Court on 21 August 2026. The charges relate to an incident on Liverpool Road, Irlam on Sunday 29 March. No further details have been revealed.
Victim Background
Ben - a musician and animal lover from Eccles, Salford - was well-known on the Manchester music scene. A singer who also played guitar, he had a degree in graphic design and was a talented builder.
