A seven-year-old boy remains in critical condition after a tragic incident at West Mersea Beach where his teenage cousin and her mother died, Essex Police said.
Sameeha Rahman, 15, her mother Shelina Rahman, 41, and seven-year-old Musa Ahmed were among six family members who got into difficulty in the water on July 22. The group included two other adults and one child.
Family efforts
Police said all family members made "significant efforts to help each other" during the incident. Sameeha and Shelina, from the Ilford area in east London, died. Musa was airlifted to hospital where he remains in a critical condition. Other family members were also taken to hospital and are recovering, the force added.
