Kevin Taggart, 37, was placed on the sex offenders' register at Hamilton Sheriff Court after police found hundreds of child abuse images on his computer equipment.
Investigation and seizure
Police officers executed a search warrant at his home in Hillhouse Crescent after learning that child abuse material had been accessed. A computer system unit was seized from a bedroom and sent for forensic examination.

The examination revealed 471 child abuse images, including 75 in Category A, the most serious category.

Admission and sentencing
Taggart admitted downloading indecent images of children at his home between February 2022 and March last year. Sentence was deferred until next month for background reports and a risk assessment.
