Toddler Drowns in Pool at His Own First Birthday Party in Brazil

A one-year-old boy has tragically died after drowning in a pool during his own first birthday party in São Carlos, Brazil. Noah Gabriel da Silva Guimarães was found floating in the water by his aunt on Saturday evening.

The child was pulled from the pool by his arm, and a party guest attempted CPR while emergency services were called. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Police were on patrol in the area and responded to reports of a drowning. They noted that heavy rain had lowered an outdoor awning, reducing visibility to the pool from the party hall. About ten people were at the event.

Noah's parents, who were described as being in shock, attended the local police station on Sunday. They stated that after the party, they were taking down decorations when Noah left his father's lap and headed toward his mother. It is believed he then went to the pool.

The São Paulo State Public Security Secretariat has launched an investigation. A forensic examination of the scene and an autopsy have been requested. The case has been registered as both a suspicious death and an accidental death.
