A former star of popular Nickelodeon children's television programmes has been identified as the victim of a fatal hit-and-run incident in New York City.

Kianna Underwood, aged 33, was struck and killed by an unidentified motorist at a Brooklyn intersection on Friday morning. The New York Police Department confirmed the incident occurred just before 7am Eastern Standard Time.
