A fatal collision between an e-bike and a garbage truck in Sydney's central business district has claimed a man's life, causing significant disruption during the Tuesday morning commute.

Emergency services rushed to the intersection of Little Regent Street and George Street in Ultimo at approximately 6am on Tuesday following reports of a serious crash. Upon arrival, they discovered the e-bike rider, a man aged in his 30s, had suffered catastrophic injuries.
Despite what have been described as frantic efforts by paramedics to revive him at the scene, the man was pronounced dead. The driver of the garbage truck, a 28-year-old man, was physically uninjured but was taken to hospital for mandatory testing as is standard procedure following such incidents.
