Shocking CCTV footage has revealed the moment a serial burglar smashed his way into a Peterborough property, leading to his eventual capture and imprisonment.

James Clayton, a 41-year-old with a history of criminal behaviour, was caught on camera using a brick to shatter the glass panel of a door before reaching inside to unlock the property. The incident occurred on September 14, 2023, at an address in Peterborough where Clayton helped himself to various household items including alcohol.
Cambridgeshire Police released the damning footage showing Clayton's methodical approach to the break-in. After gaining entry through the damaged door, the burglar spent approximately five minutes inside the property before making his escape with stolen goods.
