A nanny in Washington state has been hailed as a hero after she chased down and tackled a package thief, with the incident captured on CCTV. Kate Anderson was working for the Smith family in Everett on 29 November when she spotted a woman stealing a package from the front porch.
Anderson, who had been expecting the Amazon delivery, saw the woman pick up the package and run towards a waiting SUV. Without hesitation, she dashed outside and confronted the thief, shouting expletives before tackling her to the ground. The nanny then restrained the suspect until police arrived.
The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Rhieanna Schindler, was arrested and found to have outstanding warrants for drug possession and theft. Authorities confirmed she had been arrested more than 20 times since 2010.
Tanya Smith, Anderson's employer, praised her actions, calling her a 'straight baller' and setting up a GoFundMe page to raise $200 as a reward. The fundraiser has already exceeded its target.
