Police are investigating a burglary in which jewellery valued at £10,000 was stolen from a store in Newcastle city centre. The incident occurred at The Jewellery Queen, located in the Eldon Gardens shopping centre, over the weekend.
According to Northumbria Police, the intruder used a metal pole to smash the shop windows before stealing a quantity of jewellery. The theft took place between 7.50pm and 8.40pm on Saturday, June 6. No arrests have been made so far.

A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: 'We received a report of a burglary at a shop on Eldon Gardens, in Newcastle city centre, which is understood to have taken place between 7.50pm and 8.40pm on Saturday (June 6). It was reported that an offender had used a metal pole to smash through the window of the store before stealing a quantity of jewellery from inside. He then left the scene.'
Shop bosses confirmed to ChronicleLive that the items taken were valued at £10,000. Inquiries are ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
